Should I use both ISOfix and Traditional Seat Belt Method at the same time?
From time to time we see an awesome, well intentioned parent who’s done a great job and taken great care with installing their child’s safety seat ready for their first trip home from the hospital – and they just want an ACRI accredited member to make sure everything’s correct. The catch? They’ve installed their ISOfix safety seat using the both the ISOfix method, as well as run a seat belt through “for safe measure”.
Short Answer: No – It is not appropriate, nor legal to utilise both installation methods at the same time. It’s one or the other.
Best Practice: Don’t do it. It’s the child safety seat technicians responsibility to determine what is the best suitable method according to what the indicidual outcome they are trying to achieve.
